Game Art is for those who love both drawing and games, and are curious about how art helps create vibrant, beautiful, and interesting game worlds and characters. Your creative and analytical skills will be challenged, and you will finish the school year with a portfolio of your very own.
About Game art
The year begins with you learning pixel art and digital drawing. You then focus on creating concept art, assets, and other game art. You will work with various types of animation and learn to work within the constraints of game graphics. In addition, you will learn basic 3D modeling for use in games.
If you wish to start your own company, you can apply for a second year. You would apply to join the game company (a student-run venture) and collaborate on developing your own game throughout the school year. You get office space at the school and retain student status, while also carrying out social activities for the new students joining that year. Read more about the Game company here.

Throughout the school year, the Game Art program often collaborates with Game Music and Game Design to create games. In addition to the game projects, there will be collaborations with several of the school’s other courses, which will contribute elements such as voice acting and game music to the games being developed.
In addition, every year we have a period of intensive cross-disciplinary work. This allows you to apply your subject in a new context or delve deeper into a specific aspect of it.

Throughout the year, you collaborate with Game Design and Game Music on several projects to create games together, ranging from short game jams to larger game projects. You work together to develop the games’ concepts, visuals, and gameplay.
In our game projects, we collaborate in both small and large groups, across disciplines. The Game Art team produces art and animation, while Game Design handles programming and level design, and Game Music creates the atmosphere, sound effects, and music. Together, we create unique and engaging games!
