If you are interested in visual art, music, and acting, this is the course for you. You will receive instruction in all three subjects while also getting individual guidance on how to combine them into your own personal form of expression. We want you to experiment and explore new approaches to creating art.
At Sunnhordland Folk High School, we have extensive experience with artistic and performance-based subjects. We offer all the facilities you need to create multidisciplinary art forms—ranging from a sound studio, art studio, and theater hall to camera equipment, instruments, and digital audio workstations. The Multi-artist course will utilize these resources to create works such as art installations, sound installations, and performance theater—genres that often blend various forms of expression.
We don’t work much with fixed scripts or musical scores; instead, we develop our productions based on an exciting theme or a specific issue. It is important to us that your ideas and thoughts play a part in this process.
You will, at certain times during the year, attend classes alongside the art, music, and theater subjects, participating in their projects in your own way and using whichever artistic forms of expression you choose. In addition, the multi-art stream will develop its own unique productions together with the course instructor. No prior experience is required to apply for the multi-art stream; the most important thing is a desire to express yourself through artistic means.

Every year, we have a period where all students get to choose a focus area that cuts across the subjects. You can immerse yourself in a game project, a theater/music project, or an art project. This allows you to either delve deeper into your own specialization or try out a completely different creative discipline.
