The employees

Linn has extensive experience as an illustrator and holds a degree in 3D, animation, and game design from Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. She also holds a vocational college degree in Illustration from Kristiania University College and a master’s degree in Design, Art, and Crafts from the University of South-Eastern Norway.

Marta works in both the kitchen and housekeeping. She keeps things clean and tidy, and she is happy to help you.

Gjermund is a classically trained guitarist from the Grieg Academy in Bergen. In addition to teaching, he is a performing musician across many genres, playing everything from Baroque to black metal. He performs with bands such as Taake, Orkan, and Maidenheads, and has toured in over 30 countries worldwide.

Trond is an assistant caretaker. He is responsible for sorting waste and various tasks related to the boarding facility.

Eli has studied drama, theatre, and music at NTNU and DMMH in Trondheim, as well as at Northumbria University in Newcastle. She has held various roles in theater productions and has experience as an actor, screenwriter, director, and producer.

Hanne Kristensen works as a supervisor. She is responsible for ensuring that the students have a safe, kind, and cheerful adult to turn to.

Markus is a creative soul with many years of experience in the Norwegian game industry. He is passionate about storytelling, world design, and compelling questions surrounding games. He has been involved in game design since a young age and has worked with coding in various forms for over a decade. Alongside this, he runs his own company, developing both role-playing games and video games. He published his first book in 2019.

Nina is a qualified institutional cook and serves as the school’s kitchen manager/head chef. She is also responsible for training and the operation of the kitchen service.

Åse works in both the kitchen and housekeeping. She keeps our surroundings tidy and is happy to help with everything from sewing tasks to washing wool garments. She also assists with supervision duties.

Hildegunn is a trained chef with extensive experience in the hotel and restaurant industry. She ensures that many of the students are served their favorite foods.

Maya works in both the kitchen and housekeeping. She also has her own boarding group that she looks after well. Maya is trained in cleaning, and she keeps our surroundings neat and clean.

Yuko is a trained pianist and works as a high school teacher. At the folk high school, she teaches elective courses in Japanese language and culture, and she is our excellent piano teacher.

Bente is the school principal. She is a qualified teacher with extensive experience in the school system. At the school, she is also responsible for Norwegian instruction and the yearbook.

Silje works as a supervisor and a healthcare worker. She is responsible for ensuring that the students have a safe, kind, and cheerful adult to relate to.

Jostein is the school caretaker. He is a trained mechanic but handles just about everything. He is a reliable adult presence and is happy to help out with the study tracks.

Britt is the dormitory manager. She is the point of contact for students regarding health, absences, dormitory cleaning, and more. She has a background in business administration and can help with most things you didn’t even know you were wondering about.

Dag Åsmund is one of our night supervisors. He is responsible for ensuring the students’ safety during the night and providing a reliable adult for them to turn to.

Hanne Marie is the office manager and deals primarily with finances. She is responsible for student payments and is more than happy to help students with matters large and small.

Alejandro has a background in performance, music communication, and musicology, holding an MA in Music Research. He creates music under the artist name ruio. and is interested in textures, space, spontaneity, and noise. Alejandro also works as a producer and mixing engineer, and is a wind band conductor.

John is from England and trained at the Roehampton Institute in London. He is a thoughtful and skilled visual and street artist. In addition to teaching at Sunnhordland Folk High School, he is an active artist who frequently holds exhibitions in Norway and England. He is also known as a skilled street artist.

Jon Fredrik possesses extensive expertise in digital music and audio production, and he is passionately committed to bringing digital worlds to life through sound. With extensive experience in recording studios and a master’s degree in sound design, he is a versatile professional. He has teaching experience from institutions such as Torshus Folk High School and NTNU, as well as from working as a music teacher in primary and lower secondary schools and municipal arts schools.
