We want you to develop as an actor while exploring your voice and ideas, and examining why you want to be on stage and what you wish to convey. It is an incredibly fun and rewarding process. Here, you will gain valuable experience and create wonderful memories—both professionally and personally.
About Actor
At Sunnhordland Folk High School, you gain a distinct advantage through a high number of weekly hours dedicated to your specific subject, giving you the time to hone your craft and create impressive performances. And the best part? You have plenty of opportunities to collaborate with musicians, artists, and game developers. Here, you can gain hands-on experience in a safe environment where trial and error is encouraged.
The only requirement we have is that you are present and active during instruction and practice sessions. We work together, and we are a team.
Actors have always aimed to entertain the audience—to captivate and unite them, to shock and unsettle them, and to lead them to insights and understandings they did not possess before. We want to create magical moments that stir the audience’s imagination and engage them deeply.
We primarily work on theatre productions, but also have the opportunity to explore many other acting media throughout the year, such as short films, audio dramas, and voice acting for games.

Instruction in the subject is project-based, and we learn through hands-on experience with various productions. The major projects are managed and directed by the subject teacher, incorporating valuable input from the students, while other projects are student-led and involve working in groups.

Sunnhordland Folk High School focuses on creative subjects, which offers many opportunities for collaboration. For instance, we can provide voice acting for game developers, have music students perform live music for our theater productions, and create performance art together with art students.
