Eirik pursued his music education in Bergen, London, and Volda. He works as a musician and a secondary school teacher, and thoroughly enjoys both roles.
“I started my studies right after high school but realized I wasn’t ready for it. My brother and his girlfriend met at a folk high school and spoke very highly of the experience. I actually dreamed of working with music and becoming a rock star! So, I enrolled in a folk high school after a year of university studies, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made! (Apart from coming out of the closet!) I highly recommend attending a folk high school. Sunnhordland Folk High School offers individual lessons with an instrumental instructor, which was important to me. That year marked the beginning of my career as a songwriter and artist; I met many musicians there whom I’ve played with in various bands—and still play with today. It also gave me the confidence to pursue a music education.”
